What should I bring to my first meeting with
the designer?
Your designer is ready to help you determine what style
is right for you. However, if you think about the items
mentioned above it will speed up the process. Please do
not hesitate to bring in clippings from magazines of the
look, color and style of the cabinetry that you like. Show
and tell is always helpful! Don't worry about trying to
pinpoint your exact style....we'll help you combine the
elements that are right for you and your home...perhaps
it's a blend of traditional and contemporary that works
for you!
And, don't forget...Bring your room dimensions and also
be sure to think about all the appliances that will be
a part of the project.
A list of the appliances with their dimensions will keep
the process moving! Also, if you have
photographs of your current space bring them along too!
How do I
coordinate everything?
Having a written wish list is always a good idea to be sure that all the details
are discussed. For example, are you planning to keep your existing flooring?
It is important to relay that information to your designer...the color and texture
of the flooring may determine the type and color of the cabinets you choose.
Likewise if you plan to keep your white appliances, this will be a large design
factor.
Think about the things that you've
always wanted. Write them down! Once the design process
begins there will be so many details, you might forget
something. If you've always wanted a pop-up mixer shelf,
or a slide-out pantry shelf, now is the time to communicate
that with your designer.
Do I have to hire a contractor for my remodeling project?
No. At Granite State Cabinetry, we offer remodeling services that give busy homeowners that one-stop shopping experience they are looking for. On most projects, we will coordinate and supervise all the parties (like plumbers and electricians) necessary to complete your remodeling project. So, let us take care of it for you.
How do I
plan my budget?
As you will see, there are so many decisions to make
in the design of a new kitchen or bath. Each decision
you make will effect the price of your project. Your
GSC designer will help you understand how each of your decisions
affect the budget and will help you get the design style
that you are looking for in the most economical
way possible.
Do I have
to worry about exact measurements of my room?
It will be very helpful if you bring in measurements or a plan of your room at
your first meeting. But don't worry, we won't order cabinets based upon that!
We will make a site visit to take accurate measurements and get a firsthand look
at your unique project.
Do you do
cabinetry for laundry rooms and storage areas?
We sure do. In fact, we are finding that more and more people are making the
most out of every nook in their homes to create furniture-like storage to help
keep the clutter in check! Having quality cabinetry designed for your storage
areas will make cleaning up a pleasure and add tremendous value to your home.
I've always
wanted a spectacular home office. How can you help?
We are building more home offices spaces than ever before. Just like a kitchen
design, we will help you determine what style is right for you and determine
a balance between form and function that will make working at home a pleasure.
Think how great it would be to have plenty of file cabinets to keep yourself
organized!
I'm a movie
buff and I've always wanted to create a home theater!
Do you have solutions?
Turning a loft area or lower level into a home entertainment area is a great
way to make your home a great weekend getaway! We'll help you create an entire
room devoted to home theater and music. Cabinetry will help you keep those electronics
out of sight and provide gliding drawers to keep the videos and DVDs organized.
And, don't forget how great it would be to have a hidden mini-refrigerator disguised
as a cabinet and room for the microwave and popcorn!
